The land-based version of the PLAAF is currently called the J-35A, while the carrier-based version with folding wings will simply be referred to as the J-35. The Air Force held a press conference in Beijing to introduce information commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Air Force and to participate in the 15th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition. Colonel Niu Wenbo from the Air Force Equipment Department stated that at the 15th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition, the medium-sized multi-role stealth fighter J-35A will also have the opportunity to meet the public.

According to various sources, the J-35 will be mass-produced and may also be used as a carrier-based aircraft in the future, significantly enhancing the overall combat capabilities of our navy and air force. The launch of the J-35A means that the Chinese Air Force will simultaneously have two stealth fighters—J-20 and J-35A. Following the U.S. Air Force, which is equipped with the F-22 and F-35, China becomes the second country in the world to have two stealth fighter aircraft at the same time.

The Chinese military will bring 36 types of equipment for aerial demonstrations and static displays on the ground, aiming to comprehensively and closely showcase the development of its equipment.

The Bayi and Red Falcon aerobatic teams, along with 26 aircraft of seven types, including the J-20 stealth fighter, the J-16 multirole fighter, and the YU-20A refueling aircraft, will perform flight demonstrations, according to the PLA Air Force.

The static display area will be organized by equipment category. For the first time, new equipment such as the medium-sized multirole stealth fighter J-35A, the HQ-19 surface-to-air missile weapon system, and the new armed reconnaissance drone will be showcased. According to the PLA Air Force, the cargo hold of the Y-20 transport aircraft will be opened for visitors, with reservations made through a random draw system.

The China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition 2024 is expected to be held from November 12 to November 17 in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, South China.
